This is an audience profile of the film 'Se7en' as this film was a huge influence on our's and we wanted to contribute closely to it as possible. There is a big difference with Se7en's target audience and our's which could be a way in which we were challenging this convention.

Aim of the Lesson - Wednesday 20th January

Our Aim for Our Final Lesson on Editing

Evidence of Monday 18th January Lesson

Evidence of the Work We Have Produced So Far

This lesson was based on adding titles and effects onto our title sequence which is coming along to quite a high standard. The short clip shows where we are at, at the moment with a few added titles and some effects on the title sequence:

Aim of The Lesson - Friday 15th January 2016

Aim

Our aim for our next session that we decided to put up for ourselves to just make sure we are on track and incorporate our feedback into our title sequence is to add filters, titles and more foley sound. The next session will be on Friday 15th Jan.

11th Jan - Figuring of Shots

In todays lesson we were figuring out if we needed to do some more filming so we can add it on to our title sequence because we only have 57 seconds of film and we thought that it would not be enough.
So we went through our media drive to see if we have some clips to add and we found some that would be useful so we decided to use this.
We also figured out what pattern we would use whilst editing it and because we are making a discrete title sequence we showed glimpses of images similar to se7ens title sequence.
we have added many different filters, effects and sounds to our title sequence which has totally transformed it into something new, in some way it brings it to life and makes it seem more interesting to watch without these effects and sounds we don't think it would give the audience the same reaction

.

Working on Rough Cut 2 Feedback - Wednesday 13th January

Today we are hoping to add more clips to our title sequence in order to make it longer to make it reach the required time limit which is around 2 minutes. We are also experimenting with new effects to make it more discrete and interesting. We are adding titles to our sequence to make it longer and make it seem more realistic towards the audience.
Finally, we are adding an ident to our sequence to make the sequence look more realistic, again, but also to convey the profession of work we have made - also, to hopefully, extend the length of our sequence.

These are the titles that we would add to our sequence:

Production/Distributor (Candi Studios)
Production/Distributor (Quantum Distributions)
Director - Dylan O'Mars
Main Character - Canberk Aslan
Main Character
Title of the Film - Mind Play
Actor Name
Casting by
Costume by - Aysenur Bozkurt
Music Score by
Editing by - Morgan Avery
Cinematography/Director of Photography - Selin Akmanlar
Director - Dylan O'Mars

Friday 9th January - Aim

Friday's Editing aims (After lunch)

Though we don't have a lesson on Friday my group and I will be coming in after lunch as we have free time to continue on with our title sequence from where we left off as on the following Monday's lesson (11th jan) we will be filming more scenes to add to our sequence to make it more affective.

On Friday we will be continuing adding our sound and video effects and also the indent for the film, also to organise where we will be putting our extra scenes in to be sure that the sounds fit together. If we have enough time we would like to put in our title for the film which is called 'Mind Play'. ( in out previous storyboard we named it 'Mark My Words', however we think 'Mind Play' works really well as it links in with the music track and echo video effects)

Extra sound effects that we could add :

Rough Cut 2 Feedback

Feedback

On Wednesday 13th January 2016, we had a mini deadline for our second rough cut and received feedback from our teacher and peers in relation to what they watched. The feedback mainly consisted of positive feedback with everyone really liking the background music as it related closely with our title sequence and raised questions in the viewers' minds. Another thing they really liked was the use of foley sound and how it complemented some scenes by emphasising it and building an effect on the audience.

Our improvement points mainly consisted of adding titles and more foley sound effects where need to be as we missed the use of foley sound during a few scenes. Therefore, our aim for the next editing session is to add filters onto our title sequence and put in more foley sound to enhance the eeriness of the title sequence - our next editing session will be on Friday 15th January 2016.

Mind Play - Rough Cut 2

This is the current stage of where we are at with our title sequence. We hope to reflect back on our feedback and make sure to add the things we need to.

New Year's Resolution - Goals & Aims

Aims for Wednesday's Lesson

In our wednesday lesson of editing our group aims are to go over anything that was pointed out in our rough cut feedback lesson on Monday that we need to change or make sure flows with everything that is in the scenes. Also to see if we need to re shoot or add scenes to make sure with have enough to work with.

As well as adding sounds and any video effects that can link the previous sounds of news reporting and a police radio such as a music track that fits the atmosphere of the sequence, footsteps, heavy breathing, heart beat etc..

Examples we have found that could be added to our sequence:

Sound Effects:

Heavy / shaky breathing

Scissors cutting paper

Music track that fits the atmosphere of out title sequence (0:05-01:00)
0)

Video effect:

Technical name Echo (0:30- 0:47)

Evaluation

As we received our feedback, we will take in consideration the targets that we need to achieve to get a successful title sequence. Firstly we will be editing our shots by increasing the pase and filters. This will hopefully allow us to create a discrete theme to our title sequence. We also need to fix the sounds and arrange some sounds that needs to be added. We also as a group need to add more shots and fix the existing shots as there are some mistakes in the variety of shots. Adding on we need to add shots to make the title sequence length longer, between 2 and a half Minutues.
