defining your target audience


what genres do the audience prefer?

after conducting a small research and sing some people about what genres they prefer i have fun out that audiences prefer these genres:

Action 
Comedy 
Thriller

what were the reasons for these genre preferences?

males and females both enjoyed watching comedy films because it kept made them happy when they were in stress and it is enjoyable to watch with everyone as they said everyone likes to have a laugh

male audiences nudged watching action movies because they liked to have an adrenaline rush and it makes them excited when they are watching it because they see all these great fight moves and strong muscular men. some females enjoyed action movies as well but it weren't as much as the male audience.

males and females both enjoyed thriller because it raised questions such as what will happen or is that person gong to survive it creates curiosity so they want to watch more.

do similar audience groups like the same genres?

doesn't matter what age group you are everyone has there own taste in genre if you're 16 and you like comedy films doesn't mean that a 40 year old may not want to have a laugh as well, although teenagers tend to watch comedy horror and thriller as there favourable genres some older age groups may also have the same preferences.

which film genre would you make according to your research and who would be your target audience?

from my research i would like to make a thriller film and my target audience age group would be from 15-21 year olds.
