Title sequence to World War Z
Being one of my favourite apocalyptic film I have decided to analyse World War Z opening title sequence.
The film first starts off with the distribution company names which are Paramount Pictures, ranked one of the Big six production companies in Hollywood, Skydance production associates with Hemisphere media capital and GK films.
The companies names are shown in white writing against a dark background, permitting the text to face out and lets the audience recognise who and what companies helped with the creation of the film as a a piano riff begins to play over the tense but soft background music.
The first images we are given are a series of blissful picture of the world, the directors name appears first next to a trapezium shape video of birds that we can slightly hear screeching over the looming background noise, we are show images of what life is like now, the transport, environment issues and technology. It tells the audience about the problems we face in modern society which could then implies something could happen in the future of this film if we don't take notice of these problems.
Next to these images we are also given the who done the Casting, Visual effects supervisor, who the music score is by, costume designer, editor, Director of photography, exclusive producers, what the film is based on (Max Brooks), Screen play writer and that finally the title of the film. As they are shown the images become more increased and we can now see the reporters talking other than just hearing them, other countries are show with people wearing face marks, to the death of animals and insects are shown while we hear reporters talking about an illness, this could represent that this type of virus is killing each species down and humans are next, it a clue for the audience to understand what could happen with in this film.
