How to define your target audience. 

What film genres do audiences prefer? 

   

After collection information from my survey and Interviews and other resource material I found out that:

• Which 3 genres do audiences prefer? 

1. Thriller 
2. Horror
3. Comedy 

• What reasons did they give for their preference? 

1. Males like thriller as they like to see something that gets their heart beating 
2. Females like thriller as they likes to watch something that plays questions in their head , wondering what will happen next.

• Do similar audience groups like the same film genres? For example, do all 40 year old women prefer romantic comedies or all 16-21 year old males prefer Horror films? 

- Yes and no, My reason being is that whether your 16- 40 male or female, can like the same type of genre as something that is used patricianly with in the film could attract them. 

• Which film genre do you think you would prefer to make and, based on this research, who would be your target audience? 

- Thriller and my target audience would be 15-21 year olds.
